Mrs. Alice Smith is now our oldest member and has been active for 61 years.  In 1993, the Blackwater Chapter gave her the esteemed 50-year pin.

Mrs. Agnes Harden Hallor was our oldest member, joining in 2002 as the oldest member joining DAR.  The membership chairman received the Blue Feather award.  This was also the State Regent's oldest member to join.  Blackwater Chapter was presented with a certificate from the National Membership Committee for having a 100-year-old new member.

Mrs. Virginia Parsons is a 90-year-old member who is a descendant of a Revolutionary War soldier and patriot of Tucker County, West Virginia.  She lives in Canaan Valley where she was born and raised.  Mrs. Parsons has wonderful knowledge of Tucker County history.

Mrs. Betty Riley is a very active associate member with Blackwater Chapter, while being a member of Elizabeth Ludington Hagans-Col John Evans Chapter.

Mrs. Rita Pierce is a member of the Massachusetts State and our Associate Member.  Her ancestors are from West Virginia and are related to Louise Righman through several of her families.  In July of 2003, she was given the gift of a West Virginia pin that she will wear with pride. 

Mrs. Louise Righman served as Regent for six years and was recognized for her service to the chapter with the state society award.  She was presented the Honorary Regent pin in 2001. She is also responsible for compiling the Blackwater Chapter website on the official West Virginia DAR server.
