Membership in the NSDAR is open to women eighteen years of age or older who can prove lineal descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence either by fighting or by contributing in some way to the Revolutionary cause.  Each applicant must furnish proof of her eligibility through birth, marriage, death, and census records, wills, land deeds, etc.   Our chapter registrar is very knowledgeable and will assist applicants in documenting their ancestors.  No DAR chapter may discriminate against anyone on the basis of race or creed.  If you are interested in becoming a member of Kanawha Valley Chapter, contact our Membership Committee at: [email protected].
